Dalgona Coffee, Whipped To Perfection

Dalgona coffee using Monin Toffee Nut Syrup.
Dalgona Coffee has been around much longer than Instagram or TikTok, but has become an internet sensation in recent weeks, taking over social media feeds worldwide! The popular, cloud-like coffee goes by many names; Dalgona Coffee, Frothy Coffee, Whipped Coffee, or Magic Coffee – just to name a few. The recipe originated in South Korea, inspired by the fluffy, local indulgence known as sponge toffee. The coffee version is made by whipping equal portions of granulated sugar, instant coffee, and water. The mixture is whipped (by hand or with a hand mixer) until it becomes light, airy and frothy. The coffee “mousse” is then served over hot or cold milk. It’s a little more work than a traditional iced coffee, but the rich and creamy texture is worth the added effort, we promise! In fact, we loved it so much, that we decided to add a Monin touch by flavoring the milk base. I chose to use Monin Toffee Nut Syrup, which added a delicious, buttery finish, but feel free to opt for any one of your favorite Monin flavors instead.
