Maple Spice Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp. instant yeast
  • 3/4 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup warm milk (85-95 degrees F)
  • 1/2 cup Monin Maple Spice Syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup Monin Maple Spice Syrup

Glass Size: 8-12 cinnamon rolls.

Instructions

      1. In the bowl of a standing mixer, combine the flour and the salt.​
      2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the yeast and the milk and allow to sit for 5 minutes.
      3. After 5 minutes, combine the remaining ingredients into the stand mixer, attach the dough hook and allow to mix for 8-10 minutes on low speed or until a very smooth texture is reached.
      4. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap, allowing to rise for 90 minutes.
      5. In a separate bowl combine the cinnamon and sugar until well combined.
      6. Transfer the dough to a work surface and spread out into a large rectangle then evenly spread the melted butter over the whole rectangle.
      7. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar all over the buttered dough and then tightly roll the dough up into a log, cutting it into the desired thickness of cinnamon rolls.
      8. Transfer the cinnamon rolls to your desired baking vessel, leaving 1 1/2 – 2 inches of space in between each roll.
      9. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and allow the cinnamon rolls to proof at room temperature for an hour to an hour and a half, or until increased in size by 50%.
      10. Once proofed, bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown and remove from oven.
      11. While the cinnamon rolls cool, combine both the cream cheese and syrup into a bowl and microwave for 30 seconds and then mix until thoroughly combined.
      12. Drizzle the warm glaze over the cinnamon rolls and serve.
